Recording a night
Open the Tonight tab, tick anything about the evening worth remembering (alcohol, a late meal, a blocked nose) and what you're trying tonight (nasal strips, a side pillow), then tap Start recording. The first time, iOS asks for the microphone; Zonk only needs it while a night is being recorded.
Put the phone on the nightstand within arm's reach, microphone uncovered, and plug in the charger. Lock the screen as usual: the night screen shows a clock, a level meter and a Snoring pill while the app listens in the background. In the morning press and hold Hold to stop for a second; the night opens with its score.
A phone call pauses the recording and it resumes when the call ends; the night counts the interruption. Nights stop by themselves after twelve hours.
The morning page
- Snore Score from 0 to 100: how much of the night you snored, multiplied by how loud it was compared with the quiet of your own room. How the score is made on the page shows the night's own numbers.
- The night: the line is the room's level, the bars are snoring episodes, higher the louder, and the dots mark the clips.
- How loud: minutes of snoring at each level: quiet, light, loud and epic.
- Clips: the loudest moments, ten seconds each, with a play button. Touch and hold a clip to share or delete it; the share button at the top shares the loudest one.
- Other sounds: coughs, talking, the dog, traffic and more, counted for the night.
- That evening and Tried: the factors you ticked; change them any time. A note at the bottom is yours.
Trends
The Trends tab charts the Snore Score over 7, 30 or 90 nights with the average, the snoring time and the time in bed. What makes a difference compares your score on nights with and without each factor you ticked; it needs at least three nights on each side of a comparison and ignores recordings shorter than two hours.
Sensitivity and clips
In Settings, Sensitivity decides how sure the sound recognition has to be before a moment counts as snoring: raise it in a noisy room or for soft snoring, lower it if coughs or talking get counted. Clips kept per night (10, 30 or 60) keeps the loudest; Keep audio clips deletes older audio after 7, 30 or 90 days while the night's numbers stay.
Premium
Record every night for free, with the last seven nights in full and three clips per night. Premium adds the full history, more clips, 30/90-night trends and factor comparisons. The purchase screen shows available plans, prices and trial eligibility. Manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Restore purchases is available in Zonk Settings and on the plans page. See the Terms of Use.
Privacy
Microphone audio is analysed on your device. Only short clips are saved, and audio is not uploaded by Zonk. Usage analytics and the optional Daily Gift have separate data flows described in the Privacy Policy. Settings → Delete all nights removes local nights and clips.
Not a medical device
Zonk is a wellness tool. The score compares your own nights with each other; it is not a medical measurement and doesn't diagnose anything. If snoring worries you, talk to a doctor.

Refunds and account deletion
