Frequently asked
Where does deleted space go?
Deleted photos and videos move to Photos › Recently Deleted and stay there for 30 days, so the space comes back only after the album is emptied: open Photos, scroll to Utilities (or Albums) › Recently Deleted, tap Select, then Delete All. The app's result screen has a button that opens Photos.
Can I get a photo back?
Yes, for 30 days: Photos › Recently Deleted › select the photo › Recover.
Why does the app need full photo access?
To compare every photo with every other one. With limited access only the photos you picked can be scanned, so duplicates of other photos stay hidden. Change it in Settings › Clean Up Space › Photos.
Which photo is kept in a group?
Your favorite, if the group has one; otherwise the sharpest photo with the most pixels for similar shots, and the highest resolution copy for duplicates. You can change the selection before deleting.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The scan, the comparisons, compression and conversion run on your iPhone. The app has no server and no analytics.
How do I cancel the subscription?
In Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Clean Up Space Pro › Cancel Subscription, at least 24 hours before the period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
I bought Pro but the app shows the free version.
Open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases while signed in with the same Apple Account.
Where is the contacts backup?
In the Files app › On My iPhone › Clean Up Space: a .vcf file named “Contacts backup” with the date. Open it to re-import contacts.
